My AI SEO services make your business easy for AI search tools to find, trust and quote: Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot. The work combines generative engine optimisation (GEO) and answer engine optimisation (AEO) with the technical and content SEO those tools depend on. Then I track, month by month, how each assistant describes and recommends you.
Who AI SEO services are for
Most businesses that ask me about AI search already rank on Google for something. What has changed is where their customers ask the question first. A patient asks ChatGPT which clinic in Karachi treats a condition, a buyer asks Perplexity to compare three software tools, and a homeowner reads the Google AI Overview and never scrolls to the blue links. If your business is not one of the sources those answers draw on, you lose the enquiry before a search result is even seen. The usual situations I see:
- Your competitors are named in ChatGPT or Gemini answers about your service, and you are not.
- AI tools describe your business wrongly: an old address, a service you stopped offering, prices from years ago, or a competitor’s details mixed into yours.
- Google Search Console shows impressions rising for question-style queries while clicks stay flat, because the AI Overview answers the question on the results page.
- Your robots.txt, firewall or CDN blocks the crawlers that AI search tools use, often without anyone deciding to.
- You have good content, but it is written as long essays that never answer a question in one clear passage, so nothing on the page is easy to quote.
AI SEO is not a separate channel that replaces SEO services. Google says there are no additional requirements or special optimisations needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that a page must be indexed and eligible to show a snippet before it can appear as a supporting link (Google Search Central, updated December 2025). So the work starts with the same foundations as ranking, then adds the parts that decide whether an AI answer quotes you.
What my AI SEO services include
AI visibility audit
I start by asking the assistants. I build a list of 20 to 50 questions your customers really ask, such as cost, comparison, “best in my city” and how-to questions, and run them in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Mode. For each answer I record whether you are cited or mentioned, which competitors are, which sources the answer leans on, and whether anything said about you is wrong. That baseline is what every later report is measured against.
Answer-first content (AEO)
AI tools quote passages, not whole articles. I restructure your key service and guide pages so each section answers one question in its first one or two sentences, uses headings that match how people ask, and puts comparisons and steps into tables and lists. This is the core of answer engine optimisation, and it is how I rework pages for Google AI Overviews.
Facts, sources and expertise on the page
The original research on generative engine optimisation found that adding statistics, quotations and cited sources improved a page’s visibility in generated answers by up to 40%, while keyword stuffing performed worse than doing nothing. I replace vague claims with specific, sourced facts, add named authors and first-hand examples, and keep visible update dates so answers about prices and rules do not go stale.
Entity and brand consistency
AI tools blend what they read about you from many places. I make your business a clear entity: the same name, description, services and contact details on your site, Google Business Profile, directories and social profiles, with Organization or LocalBusiness structured data that links them together. My guide to entity-based SEO explains why this reduces the chance of being described wrongly.
Crawler access, Bing and llms.txt
I check robots.txt, firewall and CDN rules for the search crawlers each tool relies on, such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Bingbot. Training crawlers are a separate decision that I set out for you, and my guide to AI crawlers and robots.txt lists each one. Because ChatGPT search and Copilot draw heavily on Bing, I verify your site in Bing Webmaster Tools and set up IndexNow, as covered in Bing SEO for AI search. Where it helps, I add and maintain an llms.txt file, without overstating what it does.
Mentions on the sources AI answers cite
AI answers lean on review sites, directories, industry publications, comparison pages and community discussions. I find which of those sources the assistants cite for your topic, then work on being accurately listed, reviewed and mentioned there, using the same white-hat outreach as my off-page SEO services. No paid links and no fake reviews.
Platform-specific work
Each tool finds sources in its own way. I follow the steps in my guides to ChatGPT search, Perplexity SEO and Google AI Mode. For businesses whose customers book or buy through AI agents, I add the agentic SEO layer: semantic HTML, labelled forms and key facts in the delivered HTML.
GEO, AEO and LLM SEO: what each term means here
People use several names for this work. They overlap so heavily that I treat them as one service with three goals.
| Term | What it aims for | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| GEO (generative engine optimisation) | Being cited or mentioned inside AI-written answers | AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini |
| AEO (answer engine optimisation) | Being the direct answer to a question | Featured snippets, voice assistants, AI answers |
| LLM SEO | Another name for GEO, used when the focus is on large language model tools such as ChatGPT | Chat assistants and AI search |
My process, step by step
- Baseline. I run the prompt list across the assistants, check Search Console for question-style queries, and set up AI referral tracking in GA4.
- Foundations. I fix any indexing, crawler access and structured data problems first, because a page that is not indexed cannot be cited.
- Priority pages. I pick the 5 to 15 pages that match the questions where competitors are cited and you are not, then rewrite them answer-first with sourced facts.
- Entity and mentions. I align your business details everywhere and work on the third-party sources the answers rely on.
- Monthly tracking. I rerun the prompts, report citations, mentions and AI referral traffic, and correct anything an assistant gets wrong.
How long AI SEO takes to show results
Tools that search the live web, such as Perplexity and ChatGPT search, can pick up an improved page within days or weeks once it is recrawled. Being cited consistently across many questions usually takes months, because it depends on the same authority and trust that drive rankings. I report progress on a fixed prompt list each month, so you can see which questions moved rather than relying on a general impression.
AI SEO for small businesses, WordPress sites and online stores
Local and small businesses. Assistants answer “best dentist near me” style questions using Google Business Profile data, reviews, directories and local pages. For a small business the basics are accurate listings, genuine reviews and clear service pages, which overlaps heavily with my local SEO services and my small business SEO work.
WordPress sites. Most of the work happens in your theme and plugins: answer-first page templates, FAQ and Organization markup, a maintained llms.txt file and crawler rules. I work directly in WordPress and with page builders such as Elementor.
Online stores and Shopify. AI shopping answers draw on product data, reviews, comparison pages and Merchant Center feeds. I combine product and category page work from my e-commerce SEO services with clear product facts and comparison content that assistants can quote.
What affects the cost and scope
AI search work is included in the Growth and Authority SEO packages, alongside the classic SEO it depends on. Scope depends on how many priority pages need rewriting, how competitive the questions are, how many tools and markets you want tracked, and whether your technical foundations need fixing first. If you only want a one-off AI visibility audit with a prioritised action list, I quote it as a project.
Common mistakes I find
- Treating AI search as a replacement for SEO. If a page is not indexed or ranking, AI tools rarely find it.
- Blocking every AI crawler in robots.txt, which also removes the site from AI search answers, when the aim was only to opt out of model training.
- Publishing large volumes of thin AI-written pages, which adds nothing quotable and can hurt the whole site.
- Inconsistent business details across the site and directories, so assistants mix up addresses, prices or services.
- Measuring nothing. Without a fixed prompt list and AI referral tracking, nobody can tell whether the work is helping.
What I deliver
- An AI visibility baseline: your citations, mentions and competitor citations across the main assistants.
- A prioritised action list covering technical access, content, entity and third-party sources.
- Rewritten answer-first pages with sourced facts, valid structured data and internal links.
- Crawler, Bing Webmaster Tools, IndexNow and llms.txt setup where needed.
- A monthly report on prompt results, AI referral traffic and question-style Search Console queries, with AI visibility tracking of how each assistant describes you.
You can also run quick checks yourself with my free AI search tools, such as the AI citation readiness scorer and the AI crawler access checker.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between AI SEO and normal SEO?
Normal SEO aims to rank pages in the list of results. AI SEO aims to have your business cited or recommended inside the answer an AI tool writes. The foundations are the same, crawlable and indexed pages that are genuinely helpful, but AI SEO adds quotable passages, sourced facts, entity consistency and mentions on the sites assistants trust.
Can you guarantee that ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews will mention my business?
No. Nobody controls what an AI tool writes, and anyone who guarantees a citation is guessing. I can make your pages and your wider presence the kind assistants choose, and show you each month which questions now cite you.
Do I need llms.txt to appear in AI answers?
No. Google says you do not need special files for its AI features, and I have found no AI search provider documenting that it reads llms.txt to choose citations. It is cheap to maintain and can help some assistants and agents read your key pages, so I add it where it makes sense, but it is never the main lever.
Should I block AI crawlers?
Block training crawlers such as GPTBot or Google-Extended if you do not want your content used to train models. Keep search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Bingbot allowed if you want to be cited. Blocking Google-Extended does not remove you from Google Search or AI Overviews.
Does AI SEO work for local businesses in Pakistan?
Yes. Assistants answering questions about a city lean on Google Business Profile data, reviews and local directories. Accurate profiles, genuine reviews and clear service pages in English, and in Urdu where your customers search that way, are the basics.
How do you measure results?
With a fixed list of customer questions run monthly in each assistant, AI referral traffic in GA4 from sources such as chatgpt.com and perplexity.ai, and Search Console data for question-style queries. Brand searches often rise as AI mentions grow, so I track those too.
