Local SEO Services

Local SEO services to help your business rank in Google Maps, the local 3-pack, and "near me" searches.

Takes about a minute. You hear back from me personally.

My local SEO services are for businesses that win or lose customers in a few miles around their door: clinics, trades, restaurants, salons, law offices and shops. When someone types “dentist near me”, “emergency plumber Gulshan” or “best biryani in DHA”, Google shows a map with three businesses before any normal results, and my job is to get you into that map pack and keep you there, then turn those views into calls, bookings and visits.

Who local SEO is for, and what it fixes

Local SEO matters for any business that serves customers at a physical location or travels to them within a defined area. Google ranks local results on three things it openly describes: relevance (does your business match the search), distance (how close you are to the searcher or the place named), and prominence (how well known and well reviewed you are). You cannot move your shop, so the work focuses on relevance and prominence, and on making sure Google has no reason to doubt your details.

The problems I am usually brought in to fix:

  • You rank well on your street but disappear two kilometres away, where most of your customers actually live.
  • A competitor with a weaker service and fewer years in business sits above you in the map pack.
  • Your Google Business Profile was suspended, merged with an old listing, or shows the wrong phone number.
  • You get plenty of profile views but very few calls or direction requests.
  • You serve several cities or branches and only the head office shows up anywhere.
  • Reviews arrive in random bursts, some unanswered, and a few negative ones dominate the first impression.

Local searches split into a few clear patterns, and each one needs a different asset. Getting this right is the difference between a profile that collects views and one that collects customers.

Example searchWhat the searcher wantsWhat usually ranks
“dentist near me”, “pharmacy open now”The closest suitable option, nowGoogle Business Profile in the map pack
“AC repair Gulistan-e-Johar”, “plumber in Clifton”A provider covering a named areaMap pack plus a strong service or area page
“teeth whitening cost Lahore”Information before choosingA detailed service page with real answers
“best Italian restaurant Islamabad”Comparison and social proofProfiles with strong reviews, photos and menus, plus list articles

For a deeper look at how the map results are chosen, I have written a separate guide on how to rank in the Google Maps local pack.

What my local SEO service includes

Google Business Profile work

The profile is the single most important local asset. I choose the primary category based on what top-ranking competitors use and what your revenue depends on, add accurate secondary categories, write the business description, list services and products, set correct hours (including holiday hours), add attributes, and plan a steady flow of real photos. I also check the business name against Google’s guidelines. Adding keywords or city names to the name may give a short lift, but it is against the rules and a common trigger for suspensions and competitor edits. My Google Business Profile optimisation guide explains each field in more detail.

NAP consistency and citations

Your name, address and phone number need to match across your website, Google, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places, Facebook, and the directories that matter for your country and trade: Yelp in the US, Yell and Checkatrade in the UK, industry platforms such as Healthgrades or Zocdoc for clinicians, TripAdvisor for restaurants and hotels. I audit what already exists, fix or remove duplicates and old addresses, then build the citations that are worth having. Hundreds of low-quality directory listings do little; a few dozen accurate, relevant ones do far more. See my notes on NAP consistency for why the small details matter.

Location and service pages

Your website still decides a lot of local rankings, because Google reads the page your profile links to. I build or rewrite a page for each core service and, where you genuinely serve them, each city or branch. Every location page gets its own details: address, map, opening hours, staff, local photos, directions, the specific services offered there and real FAQs. I do not produce pages that swap a city name into the same paragraph, because those get ignored or filtered.

Reviews

I set up a simple, compliant process for asking every customer for a review at the right moment (after the job is done, after the meal, after the appointment), with a short link and a message template. No review gating, no incentives, no fake reviews: all three break Google’s policies and can wipe out a profile. I also write a reply framework so negative reviews are answered calmly and quickly.

Local links and mentions

Prominence grows with local mentions: suppliers, trade associations, chambers of commerce, local news, sponsorships, community events and partner businesses. I find the realistic opportunities in your area and help you secure them.

LocalBusiness schema and tracking

I add structured data that matches your profile details and set up tracking so you can see calls, direction requests and form leads, with UTM tags on the profile link so Google Business Profile traffic is separated from other organic traffic in analytics.

Local SEO for different industries

The fundamentals are the same everywhere, but the details change a lot by trade. A restaurant lives on photos, menus and review volume. A clinic needs careful wording, credentials and E-E-A-T signals because health is a sensitive topic for Google. A trade business usually has no storefront and has to rank as a service-area business. I have written dedicated pages for several of these:

Local SEO in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad

I am based in Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, so I know how people in Pakistani cities search. Many searches mix English and Roman Urdu, use neighbourhood and block names rather than postcodes (“Bahadurabad”, “Johar Town”, “F-7”), and lean heavily on mobile and WhatsApp. Addresses are often written five different ways, which makes NAP consistency harder and more important. For city-specific detail, see my pages on SEO in Karachi, SEO in Lahore and SEO in Islamabad. I also run local campaigns remotely for businesses in the US, UK, UAE and other markets, where the citation sources and review platforms differ but the method is the same.

My process, step by step

PhaseWhat I doWhat you get
Weeks 1 to 2: auditProfile review, map rank grid across your service area, citation and NAP audit, competitor comparison, website local signals checkA prioritised list of problems and quick wins
Weeks 2 to 4: foundationsProfile fixes, category changes, duplicate cleanup, core citations, tracking setupA clean, accurate profile and listings Google can trust
Months 2 to 3: pages and reviewsService and location pages, LocalBusiness schema, review request system livePages that support the map listing, and steady new reviews
Month 3 onwards: growthLocal links, photo and post schedule, review replies, new service areasMonthly report on rankings across the grid, calls and direction requests

Most businesses see movement in the map pack within a few weeks of fixing profile and category problems, with steadier gains over 3 to 6 months. Highly competitive categories in big cities (lawyers, dentists, locksmiths) can take longer, and I will tell you honestly if your location is too far from where the searches happen.

What affects the scope and cost

I do not sell fixed packages, because a single-branch café and a ten-branch clinic chain need very different amounts of work. Scope depends on:

  • Number of locations or service areas.
  • How competitive your category is in your city.
  • The state of your profile: clean, duplicated, suspended or not yet verified.
  • How many service and location pages need writing or rewriting.
  • Whether your website itself has technical problems holding it back, in which case technical SEO work may need to come first.

Common local SEO mistakes I find

  • A primary category that is too broad (“Medical clinic” instead of “Dermatologist”).
  • A virtual office or co-working address used as a storefront, which risks suspension.
  • Several profiles for the same location, created by different staff or agencies over the years.
  • A tracking phone number on the profile that does not appear anywhere else.
  • The profile linking to the homepage when a branch or service page would answer the search better.
  • Dozens of near-identical “service in [city]” pages for areas the business does not really serve.
  • Buying reviews or offering discounts for them.

Frequently asked questions

How long does local SEO take to show results?

Fixing obvious profile problems such as the wrong category or a duplicate listing can show results within weeks. Broader gains in map visibility usually build over 3 to 6 months, depending on competition and how established your profile already is.

Do I need a physical address to rank in Google Maps?

You need a real, verifiable address, but it does not have to be shown publicly. Service-area businesses such as plumbers and cleaners can hide their address and set the areas they cover. Virtual offices and mailboxes are not allowed.

Can you do local SEO for several branches or cities?

Yes. Each branch gets its own profile, its own location page with genuinely unique details, and its own review flow. If you serve areas without a branch, I build service-area pages only where you really work.

Can you guarantee a top-three map position?

No, and nobody honestly can. Distance from the searcher is part of the ranking, so results change street by street. What I can do is remove the problems holding you back and build the relevance and reviews that move you up across more of your area.

Is local SEO worth it if I already run Google Ads?

Usually, yes. Map pack listings sit above or beside paid results on many searches and do not charge per click. Many businesses I speak to find that a strong profile reduces how much they need to spend on ads for the same number of calls.

What do you need from me to start?

Manager access to your Google Business Profile, access to your website and analytics, a list of your services and locations, and someone on your team who can ask customers for reviews.
