The FAQ Generator for AI Search builds a set of questions for any topic, service or product, then turns your answers into clean FAQ HTML and FAQPage JSON-LD. It checks every answer against the 40 to 60 word range, flags duplicates, pronoun-led answers and answers that never name the topic, and works in bulk: generate questions for up to 100 topics at once, then paste back answers for many pages and get separate schema for each.

Key takeaways

  • Good FAQ sections answer the questions people actually ask, in the words they use, with a direct answer in the first sentence.
  • FAQ content helps readers and gives AI assistants short, self-contained passages to quote.
  • Since 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites, so treat FAQPage schema as a description of your content, not a route to extra space in results.
  • The schema must match the visible questions and answers exactly. This tool builds both from the same text, so they always match.

What the FAQ Generator does

The tool works in two steps. In Step 1 you enter one or more topics, an optional location and an optional business name, and choose which types of question you want. It builds questions from patterns people commonly ask about any service or product: what it is, how much it costs, how long it takes, who it suits, how to choose, what results to expect, where to get it locally and why to choose your business.

In Step 2 you write or paste the answers. The tool checks each one and outputs two blocks for each topic: FAQPage JSON-LD inside a script tag, and matching HTML with an H2 and an H3 per question. Paste the HTML into your page and the JSON-LD into your head or footer, or use the HTML alone if your site already generates FAQ schema from headings.

Question types it covers

Not every pattern fits every topic. Delete the ones that do not, and add the real questions customers ask by phone, email, WhatsApp and in reviews. Those are the most valuable questions on any FAQ page.

How to use the FAQ Generator

  1. In Step 1, enter one topic per line. For bulk work, enter up to 100 topics, such as every service you offer.
  2. Add a location to get local questions and a business name to get questions about you. Untick any question types you do not want.
  3. Press Generate questions. Review the table and download the CSV if you want to plan answers in a spreadsheet.
  4. Press “Send to Step 2 as a template”. The questions appear grouped under a ## heading for each topic, with empty A: lines.
  5. Write the answers. You can also paste question | answer rows or tab-separated rows straight from a spreadsheet.
  6. Press Build FAQ schema. Fix anything marked Fix or Check, then copy the JSON-LD and HTML for each topic, or download all of them as one JSON file.

Example output

With the example topics, teeth whitening and dental implants, and Karachi as the location, Step 1 produces 38 questions, 19 per topic. In Step 2 the example answers build two separate FAQPage blocks. The answer to “What is teeth whitening?” is 45 words, names the subject and is marked Ready. The answers about how long whitening results last and how long an implant takes are just over 30 words, so they are marked Check with a note to add a specific detail.

How to write FAQ answers that AI search can use

  1. Answer in the first sentence. “Teeth whitening usually costs PKR 25,000 to PKR 60,000 in Karachi” is a complete answer on its own.
  2. Repeat the subject. Start with the topic, not “It”, so the answer makes sense when quoted alone.
  3. Add one fact. A number, a timeframe or a named source turns a vague answer into a quotable one.
  4. Keep it to 40 to 60 words. Put detail in the main body of the page and link to it.
  5. Be honest. “It depends” is not an answer; say what it depends on.

Check finished answers with the Answer Snippet Length Checker and the whole page with the AI Citation Readiness Scorer. Our guide to FAQ page SEO covers when an FAQ section helps a page and when it adds clutter.

FAQ schema in 2026: what it does and does not do

FAQPage is a schema.org type that marks up a list of questions with one accepted answer each. Google reduced FAQ rich results in August 2023 and now shows them only for well-known, authoritative government and health sites. Other sites can still use the markup, and it remains valid, but it will not usually change how the page looks in Google. Bing and other systems may still read it as a clear description of the page’s questions and answers.

The value of a good FAQ section today is mostly in the content itself. Short, direct question-and-answer pairs match the way people phrase questions to ChatGPT and Google, and they are easy for AI answer engines to quote. If you add the schema, it must match what is visible on the page, and it should not be used for questions written only to include keywords. Place it as described in where to put JSON-LD, and validate it with the JSON-LD Validator. For other schema types, use the Schema Markup Generator.

Finding better questions

The generator gives you a starting point, but the best questions come from real people. Look at the questions in Google’s People Also Ask boxes for your topic, the queries that bring visitors in the Search Console Performance report, and the prompts customers type into AI assistants. The Prompt-to-Query Mapper turns long conversational prompts into short questions and keywords you can answer on the page.

Limits to know about

The questions come from patterns, not from search data, so the tool does not know which ones people search for most. It does not write answers for you, because answers should come from your own knowledge and prices. The answer checks measure length, wording and topic mentions; they cannot judge accuracy.

What does an FAQ generator do?

An FAQ generator suggests the questions a page should answer and turns your answers into formatted HTML and FAQPage schema. This one also checks each answer’s length and wording so it is clear enough to quote.

Does FAQ schema still work in Google?

The markup is still valid, but since August 2023 Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health websites. Most sites will not see a visual change, though the content still helps readers and AI search.

How long should an FAQ answer be?

About 40 to 60 words works well for most questions. Put the direct answer in the first sentence, add one specific detail and link to the main section of the page for more.

Can I generate FAQs for many pages at once?

Yes. Enter up to 100 topics in Step 1. In Step 2, start each page’s questions with a ## heading, and the tool builds separate HTML and JSON-LD for each one.

Should the FAQ answers match the schema exactly?

Yes. FAQPage markup must describe questions and answers that are visible on the page. This tool builds the HTML and the schema from the same text, so they match.

Does the tool store my answers?

No. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to my server or saved.
