Technical SEO in Gujranwala

Most Gujranwala businesses that ask me about technical SEO are manufacturers: makers of electric fans, sanitary fittings, kitchenware, steel and engineering products, selling to dealers across Pakistan and, increasingly, to buyers abroad. Their websites tend to share one problem. The real product range lives in a PDF catalogue, a WhatsApp group or a salesman’s head, and very little of it exists as pages Google can find.

The catalogue problem: when your product range is a PDF

A typical Gujranwala factory website has a homepage, an “about us” page with a photo of the plant, a gallery, a contact form and a link to download the catalogue. The catalogue might hold two hundred models of ceiling, pedestal and exhaust fans, or every mixer, valve and shower set the company makes. Google can read a PDF, but it treats the whole file as one document. A buyer searching for a specific model number, size or wattage almost never lands on page 37 of your catalogue.

Technical SEO for a manufacturer starts by turning that catalogue into a structure a search engine can index:

A first 90 days for a Gujranwala manufacturer’s website

Factory websites are usually built once and then left alone. This is the order I work in when a site has had little attention for a few years.

Days 1 to 30: make the site crawlable and trustworthy

  1. Get Google Search Console set up and verified. On many factory sites nobody has the login, or it was never created.
  2. Move the site to HTTPS if it is still on HTTP, and redirect every old address to the secure version.
  3. Check the hosting. Cheap shared plans bought years ago are often slow and sometimes offline, and Google records that.
  4. Find and remove spam pages injected through outdated WordPress plugins or themes. This is common on sites nobody has updated, and it can quietly damage how Google sees the whole domain.
  5. Submit a clean XML sitemap that lists only real, indexable pages.

Days 31 to 60: build the product architecture

  1. Convert the catalogue into category and product pages, starting with your best-selling or highest-margin lines.
  2. Compress product photography and serve modern image formats, so pages load on a dealer’s phone over mobile data.
  3. Add Organization and Product structured data, plus breadcrumbs that match the category structure.
  4. Write unique title tags that include model names and product types, not “Home | Company Name” on every page.

Days 61 to 90: connect enquiries and measure

  1. Add enquiry buttons on product pages (WhatsApp click-to-chat and a short form), each tracked so you know which products generate leads.
  2. Build a dealer or distributor locator if you have a dealer network, with each city as a crawlable page rather than a map embed that search engines cannot read.
  3. Review Search Console data to see which product queries are starting to show impressions, and adjust category pages to match.

Some sites move faster than this and some slower, depending on how much content exists and who controls the hosting. The order matters more than the dates.

Selling outside Pakistan from Gujranwala

Several Gujranwala industries already export or want to. Overseas importers search very differently from local dealers. They use English trade terms and international standards, and they want to see certifications, minimum order quantities, packing details and export experience before they send an enquiry.

Technically, that means deciding early whether you need a separate export section or a separate site, and if you target specific regions (the Gulf, for example), whether those pages need their own URLs and hreflang tags. It also means checking that your server responds quickly for visitors outside Pakistan. A site that loads well in Gujranwala can be slow for a buyer in Dubai or Europe if it sits on distant, underpowered hosting with no content delivery network in front of it.

B2B marketplaces can bring enquiries, but they rank the marketplace, not your brand. Your own site is the one asset where the product pages, the enquiry data and the search visibility all belong to you.

Working with me from Karachi

I do not have an office in Gujranwala. I work remotely from Karachi, in the same time zone, and we can talk in Urdu or English on a call or on WhatsApp, whichever suits the owner or manager I am dealing with. Many factory websites are maintained by a local freelance developer or a relative of the owner, so I write fix lists in plain steps that a WordPress developer can follow, and I can make the changes myself where that is simpler.

What a factory website audit includes, item by item, is on the technical SEO services page. For a sense of how I report progress to owners, browse the case studies.

Questions Gujranwala manufacturers ask

Our customers are dealers who already know us. Why does the website matter?

New dealers, contractors, builders and overseas buyers do not know you yet, and they search for products before they call anyone. A site where every product line has its own page is also easier for your existing dealers to share with their customers than a heavy PDF.

We do not publish prices. Can product pages still rank?

Yes. Many B2B buyers search by product type, model or specification, not price. Pages with full specifications, clear photographs and an easy way to request a quote can rank and convert without listing prices.

Our site was built years ago and nobody has the login. Where do we start?

Start by recovering access to the domain, the hosting and the WordPress or CMS admin. I can help work out who registered what, but the domain must end up in the company’s name. Nothing else in the technical plan is safe until you control those three things.

If your product range is still locked in a catalogue file, I can review your current site for free and show you what a crawlable product structure would look like for your lines. Get in touch here to arrange it.
