International SEO in Ajman usually means a company with a small UAE base and a customer list spread across several countries. Many Ajman Free Zone traders and manufacturers sell into Saudi Arabia, Oman, East Africa or South Asia, and their website has to work for buyers in each of those places. I work with Ajman businesses remotely from Karachi, one hour ahead of UAE time.
One Ajman licence, many target markets
The typical Ajman client I speak to is not trying to win searches in Ajman. They hold a free zone or mainland licence there because of cost and convenience, then re-export: building materials, auto parts, foodstuffs, packaging, cosmetics, general trading. Their customers are importers and distributors elsewhere.
That creates a mapping problem before any keyword research. Different markets search for the same product in different languages, with different trade terms, and expect different proof that you are real. So the first deliverable in an Ajman project is a simple market map:
- Which countries already send enquiries, and through which channel (search, WhatsApp, B2B portals, referrals).
- Which product lines matter in each country.
- Which language each buyer group searches in: Gulf Arabic speakers, French-speaking West African buyers, English-speaking East African or South Asian buyers.
- Whether you ship from the UAE, from a supplier’s country, or both, because that changes how you describe availability.
Only then do I decide on site structure.
Arabic and English versions that target the right countries
An Arabic page is not automatically a Saudi page or an Emirati page. hreflang lets you say exactly which audience each version is for. For an Ajman trader, a setup might look like this:
| URL folder | hreflang | Audience |
|---|---|---|
| /en/ | en | English-speaking buyers anywhere, the default |
| /ar/ | ar | Arabic-speaking buyers across the Gulf |
| /ar-sa/ | ar-SA | Saudi buyers, only if pricing, certification or delivery terms differ for Saudi Arabia |
| /fr/ | fr | French-speaking African importers, only if enquiries show the demand |
Most companies need fewer versions than they think. A separate Saudi folder only makes sense when the content is genuinely different, for example because Saudi conformity requirements apply to your products or you quote different terms. Duplicating the same Arabic page under two codes adds maintenance without adding visibility.
The Arabic pages also need proper right-to-left layout. Menus, tables, forms and phone number fields often break when a theme was built only for English, and that is the first thing a Gulf buyer will notice.
First 90 days for an Ajman trading company
- Weeks 1 to 3: technical audit, market map, and a check of how your company name appears in search in each target country. I also review whether your domain (.ae or .com) suits the markets you want.
- Weeks 4 to 6: keyword research per market and language, then page briefs for your most important product categories. Category pages for a trader matter more than the home page.
- Weeks 7 to 9: translation by native writers working from the briefs, hreflang implementation, and Organization and Product structured data with your Ajman address.
- Weeks 10 to 12: trust pages (licence details, warehouse, shipping process, payment terms), a Google Business Profile check for your Ajman location, and reporting by country set up in Search Console.
Rankings in competitive Gulf markets take longer than 90 days. This plan gets the foundations right so the next months can build on them.
Trust signals a foreign importer checks
A distributor in Riyadh or Nairobi who finds an Ajman supplier online will want to know the company exists and can deliver. Pages that help:
- A company page that states your licence type and the free zone or emirate, with a real address and map.
- Photos of your own warehouse or showroom, not stock images.
- Clear Incoterms, shipping routes from UAE ports, and the documents you provide with a shipment.
- Brand authorisations or distributorship letters, if you hold them, shown with permission.
- Consistent details across your website, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile and any B2B portal listings.
Data and contact forms
If your forms collect personal data from buyers, the UAE’s federal Personal Data Protection Law is relevant, and Saudi Arabia has its own PDPL. Free zones can have their own rules too. I make sure forms and privacy pages are clear and do not collect more than you need, but the legal wording should be checked by your adviser. This matters more for an Ajman company than for a purely local one, because enquiries arrive from several jurisdictions.
How the remote setup works
Karachi is one hour ahead of the UAE, so a full working day overlaps. Calls are in English or Urdu, and many Ajman trading teams include people who speak both. I share progress in a monthly report broken down by country and language, plus a short call. If you also want help in the local UAE market, my SEO services in Dubai and the UAE page covers that. For multi-country work like this, my international SEO page explains the method, and my case studies show how results are reported back.
Questions Ajman businesses ask
Should we use a .ae domain or a .com?
A .ae domain signals the UAE, which is fine if most buyers are in the Emirates. If you mainly sell to other countries, a .com with language folders is usually more flexible, because you can target several markets from one domain.
Our enquiries come through WhatsApp. Does SEO still matter?
Yes. Buyers often find you through search and then message you on WhatsApp. I add tracking to the WhatsApp buttons so you can see which pages and countries start those conversations.
Can you write the Arabic content yourself?
I write the strategy, keyword research and briefs. The Arabic copy should be written by native speakers, on your team or one we agree on, and I check structure, headings and markup before it goes live.
Do we need a page for every country we sell to?
No. Build country or language versions only where the content or the search language really differs. Otherwise one strong English or Arabic page can serve several markets.
If you run an Ajman trading or manufacturing company and want buyers in other countries to find you, apply for a free audit and receive a short map of the countries and languages where your site appears today and the ones where it is absent.
